Example: The students have to memorize as many words as possible that have been written on the blackboard and then, they have to write in their notebooks the words/expressions that have disappeared from the blackboard, erased by the teacher

Instructions to complete task

Example:

• The teacher writes a few contentrelated expressions/concepts on the blackboard
• asks the students to come to the blackboard and add short definitions/synonyms/ translations for those concepts/expressions. (corrections are made, if necessary, erase duplicates)
• Back to their places, they have 2 minutes to try to memorize as many words as possible.
• The students close their eyes and the teacher erases some of the words/definitions/synonyms (draws a line where the words were)
• The students (voluntarily or named) come to the blackboard and write from memory the missing parts.
• Repeat the action as many times as necessary

Guidance and suggestions for learners

Example:

• each student one word/definition/expression
• after the activity write down all the words and expressions in their notebooks
• ask them to underline the words/expression that they really want to remember
• ask them to write two sentences using their two favourite words/expressions used in the activity

Analysis and reflection on completion of task

Example:

• How effective was the task
  • did the students memorize many words?
  • did the students write the words correctly?
  • did the students know how to correctly use the words in the sentences?
• How well the students understood the task
  • did the activity go on smoothly?
  • did they enjoy the activity?
